The Richardson H.Q. His staff feverishly prepared for the impending shift to New Hampshire. In the front office, Dave Imamura, a Dartmouth sophomore from Irvington, N.Y., who is heading Richardson efforts at New Hampshire colleges, put together binders detailing his candidate’s packed schedule.
“He is just going to campaign the hell out of this state,” said Mr. Imamura, who has been assigned to pick up Mr. Richardson at 1:20 a.m. from the Manchester airport. “It’s going to be ridiculous, I love Bill Richardson, and this is so much work, but it’s so rewarding.”
A sign of the looming crush was the arrival of the national team. Siri Trang Khalsa, a Richardson foreign policy adviser, is part of the “rally team” a group of reinforcements. “I have been redeployed to New Hampshire the last 5 days,” said Trang Khalsa. “The governor is going to be working non-stop, I don’t think he will be sleeping at all and neither will any of us.” David Buchanan, a rally team member who until recently had been organizing volunteer efforts in California, said: “I am here to do whatever it takes to get the job done.”
