In what proved to be a lesson in history dating back to World War II, many from the area heard a real account of New Hampshire's only prisoner of war camp.
The camp's name was Camp Stark, bearing the name of the town it resided in.
Allen Koop, a Dartmouth College professor of American and European history and the author of “Stark Decency,” came before a packed house Wednesday night at the Laconia Public Library to tell the story.
