The Boston Globe: Stanley H. Feldberg, a pioneer in the discount apparel and merchandising business, helped establish three major off-price chain stores, Zayre, T.J. Maxx, and BJ's Wholesale Club, during a 40-year career. Mr. Feldberg studied at Dartmouth College for a few months before enlisting in the Army Air Forces. After serving in World War II, Mr. Feldberg resumed his studies at Dartmouth, graduating in 1949. On Saturday, he died at the age of 79, of prostate cancer at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston.
